01About

Pedagogy first, publish standards close behind.

I am an instructional designer and a Canadian-certified (OCT) educator, and I design and ship production courseware on a commercial multi-tenant LMS. As co-founder and CEO of Kourstec I am also the foundational course designer for Kours, its multi-tenant SCORM and xAPI learning platform, where I author interactive e-learning in Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise 360 for delivery to business customers.

Four-plus years of teaching and curriculum work sit underneath all of it: a 4.0-GPA dual degree in Education and Psychology, and a Master of Education focused on instructional design and learning technologies, expected November 2026. That background is why I care as much about whether a course reports its completion correctly as about how it looks on the first slide.

The work I enjoy most is the seam between the two: mapping objectives with Bloom’s taxonomy and UDL on one side, choosing the right completion rule and publish target on the other, then using real completion and engagement analytics to iterate on structure, pacing, and assessment.

Learner progress and credentials should derive from real course state, never from a guess.

From the classroom to the publish pipeline.

Four-plus years of teaching and curriculum work, now applied to courseware that has to report itself correctly to a production learning platform.

  1. Co-Founder & CEO, Lead Instructional Designer

    May 2026 – Present

    Kourstec (Kours LMS)Remote (Cleveland, OH)

    Co-founded Kourstec and lead the company as CEO; foundational course designer for Kours (kours.org), a multi-tenant SCORM/xAPI Learning Management System serving business customers.

    • Design and develop the platform’s course library end to end in Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise 360, publishing to SCORM 1.2/2004, with xAPI dual-publishes for richer interaction analytics, for delivery across customer tenants.
    • Defined the platform’s course publish standards, covering completion-rule selection across Passed, Completed, Progress, and Time-based, graded versus content-only reporting, and dual-publish handling, so every course reports completion correctly to the learner-tracking runtime.
    • Structure multi-module courses with retake policies, certificate templates, and badge criteria aligned to the platform’s enrollment-completion logic, so learner progress and credentials derive from real course state.
    • Created the master course Gallery from which customer tenants subscribe catalog content, and built the demo courseware powering the public kours.org showcase.
    • Partner with engineering as co-approver on the platform’s production release gate (Azure DevOps CD), and diagnose live SCORM reporting issues such as lesson-status and completion-rule mismatches.
    • Use completion and engagement analytics to iterate on course structure, pacing, and assessments.

  2. Business Administrative Associate / Trainer

    October 2025 – Present

    Ascendant Financial / Lifeva (US branch)Remote

    Joined Ascendant Financial in October 2025; transitioned to Lifeva, its US branch, in June 2026.

    • Converted PowerPoint training materials into interactive Articulate 360 modules for advisor training.
    • Train new advisors on administrative duties and company systems, including the CRM and SharePoint filing system.
    • Arrange training schedules and agendas for lead advisors.
    • Serve as primary client liaison for a financial advisory practice, managing scheduling, communications, and meeting preparation across advisors and internal teams.
    • Maintain CRM data integrity and support compliance operations, including document audits, new-client onboarding, and re-engagement email campaigns.

  3. Tutor-Mentor

    • Deliver personalized instruction in language arts and mathematics to learners across ages and ability levels, designing individualized learning plans tailored to each learner’s needs and progress data.
